Our MPE Edmonton Office is hiring a Municipal Engineer to join the team. This role is ideal for a professional engineer who is eager to work on diverse and impactful projects within a supportive and dynamic team environment.   

some typical projects you will work on;

* Replacement and upgrade of underground water, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure
* Development of water treatment and pumping facilities
* Wastewater collection, pumping, and treatment facilities
* Infrastructure assessments and studies

Responsibilities:

Your main responsibilities 

* Oversee and manage municipal engineering projects from inception through completion

* Perform design, construction site inspections, and contract administration duties

* Develop and review engineering design drawings, specifications, and contract documents

* Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with project specifications and standards

* Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success

* Coordinate designs and construction inspections with multiple disciplines

* Provide mentorship and support to junior engineers and technologists

* Apply and promote health and safety rules and comply with MPE's quality procedures.

Qualifications:

What makes you unique

* B.Sc. in Civil Engineering and membership with APEGA

* Minimum of 10 years of experience in municipal engineering, with a strong preference for candidates with hands-on experience in construction observation and contract administration

* Working knowledge of water and wastewater distribution and collection systems

* Proficiency in computer software for modelling and spreadsheet analysis

* Demonstrated aptitude for general construction methods

* Strong business acumen and understanding of municipal infrastructure projects

* Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team atmosphere

* Self-motivated with leadership potential

* Excellent verbal and written communication skill
