Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Mental Health Specialist to join our team. As a Mental Health Specialist, you will work within our Partial Hospitalization Program for adolescents ages 12-17. The Mental Health Specialist will work closely with a team of Psychiatrists, Mental Health Therapists, and a School Teacher providing support in a group therapy setting.

Qualifications:
* Education: Bachelors degree
* Experience: 2 years experience
* Licenses/Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Responsibilities:
The Mental Health Specialist, under supervision of a Clinical Manager, assists in the care of individuals with mental illnesses and/or behavioral problems in partial hospitalization unit.
* Monitors patients physical and emotional well-being and reports unusual behavior or physical ailments to the treatment team.
* Interacts with patients throughout the day monitoring behavior and providing behavioral interventions and de-escalation.
* Acts as a patient advocate communicating with primary therapist and treatment team so that patient needs will be met.
* Provides basic care and oversees the safety and security of mental/behavioral health patients under supervision of the Clinical Manager.
* Assists patients in participating in recreational activities and group therapy activities by providing 1:1 support within the group environment to understand the curriculum and fully participate in the group treatment
* Ensures safe and healthy environment of care.
* Documentation of observations in groups and completion of daily risk assessments and screening tools. Updates patient charts to ensure proper diagnosis is attached to the patient record.
* May co-facilitate group therapy under supervision.
* Participates in weekly treatment team and provides feedback based on patients behaviors and response to interventions, may participate in developing care plan.
* Acts as communication liaison with patient families and others to ensure patient safety and well-being.
* Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:

* Licenses/Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross.
