Responsibilities:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery.

Every day, you will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, making critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing patient care plans. * Oncology RN is responsible for providing a wide variety of professional nursing services which focus on the provision of quality patient care consistent with VMFH standards/values, applicable regulatory requirements and scope of practice for the nursing profession.  
* Work also includes developing, implementing and assessing the patient plan of care during time of stay in collaboration with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and the patient/family. 
* Administer a variety of Chemotherapy/biotherapy/targeted therapies as directed by the patient's diagnosis and treatment plan.
* An incumbent is engaged in direct patient care, including assessing, planning, coordinating, evaluating and delegating work to members of the patient care team, and for providing education and consultation with patients, families, physicians and other staff members in implementing appropriate nursing interventions for optimal patient care. 

Our brand new, state of the art St. Michael Medical Center is one of only four hospitals in our state to achieve Pathway to Excellence designation, which recognizes health care organizations for their commitment to ensuring excellence in the nursing profession.  In Oncology, our patient population typically consists of medical oncology patients, hematology patients (Mylodysplastic patients), oncology patients actively receiving or have recently received chemotherapy/biotherapy/targeted therapy, in addition we also care for patients with complex pain management issues (sickle cell), end of life/hospice/palliative patients with occasional general medical/surgical overflow patients.

Our commitment to our Oncology team goes even farther! Our Cancer Program is ACOS accredited, and we will help you to obtain your National Oncology Certification (OCN).  OCN National Certified RN's will receive extra premium pay.

This position is located at 7 North - Medical Oncology. 

Qualifications:

Required:

* Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
* Minimum 6 months previous RN experience required.
* Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
* Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification. Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire.  This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

Preferred: 

* BSN degree is preferred.
* Minimum two years in an oncology acute care setting or related work experience like Med/Surg, Progressive Care or Intensive Care Obtain your bio/chemotherapy provider card within one year of date of hire to actively administer chemotherapy or have one year in chemotherapy administration, preferred.
* Specialty certification, as appropriate to the assigned work unit, is strongly preferred.
* EPIC experience preferred.
