				Regional Medical Director:

The Regional Medical Director (RMD) is responsible for Medical Management and Quality oversight and outcomes for a particular Line of Business such as Medicare, Commercial etc. Additionally, the RMD is responsible for the engagement and performance of physicians in their geography including support of Value Based Care models. 

The RMD is also responsible for support of the sales and account management function with key employer groups in their geography. Ultimately, the RMD is responsible for achieving Triple Aim for COMPANY members in their geography and for optimizing the TME in that same geography and for the LOB for which they are responsible. 

Finally, the RMD will be responsible for specific clinical roles such as Quality as directed by the CMO. Chairs or attends appropriate Committees as assigned. Performs oversight of the UM function in their geography by reviewing some of the appeals in their geography daily. Participates in Medical Director meetings, TME meetings, specific project meetings and other meetings as assigned. Is fully conversant in all COMPANY clinical programs and can present their outcomes to employer and provider groups. Understands all of the data elements that are available to our providers, and able to interpret the data to create meaningful information. Develops strong regional relationships with key external stakeholders including key advocacy groups, local medical societies, relevant state, local and federal agencies. Provides educational content as appropriate to employees, provider groups, employer groups 
  
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS 
  
Minimum Education: 
Ideal candidate will have an active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in New York State with current Board Certification in a Primary Care Specialty preferred. 
MBA or other management education or equivalent experience is desirable. 
  
Minimum Experience: 
Minimum of 5 years of clinical practice is required. 
At least 5 years of managed care experience is required with increasing responsibility. 
Experience in a provider risk or ACO environment is ideal.
