Responsibilities:
The Medical Assistant provides patient care under the clinical supervision of a Physician Assistant, delivering services aligned with individual needs, clinician requests, and standard care practices. This role encompasses both clinical and administrative tasks to ensure a high level of patient satisfaction in a cost-effective manner. Employees are expected to perform their duties in alignment with the vision, values, and guiding principles of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
* Obtain and document vital signs, reasons for visits, and patient medication lists.
* Prepare patients and examination rooms for clinical evaluations and treatments.
* Assist clinicians with procedures, reinforce patient education, and schedule follow-up appointments.
* Manage front-office duties, including scheduling, phone triage, medical record management, and patient transportation arrangements.
* Adhere to hospital and departmental policies, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and standards for Medical Assistants.
This position requires excellent communication skills, a commitment to providing exceptional customer service, and a proactive approach to supporting the operational and clinical goals of the department.
Qualifications:
* Neurosurgery Experience Highly Preferred
* Medical Assistant Certification and AHA-Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
* High school graduate or equivalent
* At least one year of clinical/patient care experience is required
* Clinical experience equivalent to Medical Assistant is preferred
* Computer literate with keyboard skills
* Good communication skills
