Overview:
Merrick is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to join a team of engineering and design personnel serving the Nuclear Services & Technology Business Unit in our Greenwood Village, CO office. This dynamic multidisciplinary engineering group specializes in the design and fabrication support of one-off custom equipment, gloveboxes, hot cells, specialty research equipment, and remotely operated mechanisms for handling radioactive and hazardous materials.
Responsibilities:
Work with a team of engineers and designers within the equipment design group and interface with other disciplines (electrical, I&C, structural, HVAC, and process) to create design packages and provide fabrication support for custom equipment.
Key Responsibilities
* 3-D modeling
* Creating and checking fabrication drawings, equipment datasheets, fabrication and procurement specifications, engineering studies, and calculations
* Provide fabrication support, including answering Requests for Information (RFI) and creating Design Change Notices (DCN)
* Adherence to schedule, budget, and quality assurance/quality control procedures
* Coordination with other engineering disciplines
* Participation in internal and external client meetings
Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
* Zero (0) - four (4) years of engineering experience
* Experience or familiarity with 3D design software Creo (Pro Engineer), SolidWorks, Revit, or similar 3D modeling package
* Engineering in Training (EIT) certification or pass the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam within two (2) years of employment
* Must have the ability to acquire a security clearance.
