Overview:
Designs and analyzes products for cosmetic and functional housing, internal components, and development, including evaluation of existing standard parts, equipment and packaging. Verifies designs using CAE, manual methods, and functional test. Designs and performs experiments for verification analysis.
The incumbent will be working onsite at our incolnshire, IL location.
Responsibilities:
* Leads internal design meetings to plan design or design review activities
* Completes all phases of design projects on a variety of levels at different complexity
* Reviews recommended improvements based on analysis and documentation conducted by less experienced engineers
* Implements necessary recommendations
* Designs complex test experiments. Oversees execution of test experiments and reviews results
* Makes and implements recommendations to improve product and team performance
* Maintains an understanding in multiple technical areas and a knowledge of latest technology and design techniques.
* Understands customer needs and reflects those needs in design work
* Develops positive relationships with other engineering disciplines and other functions, such as sales, manufacturing, and marketing to support client needs
* May develop new tools to aid in the analysis and solving of problems. Provides resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of a variety of factors
* Exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 4+ year experience or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 2+ year experience
* Expertise in CAD design using Creo
* Experience in plastic parts design, drive train design, plastic gears etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with Printers or Thermal printers
* Experience with Sheet metal will be a plus.
