Responsibilities:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 2+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree and 6 months of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred,

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire.  Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications:

* Overview:
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and testing of mechanical devices, including tools, engines, and machines. They apply principles of engineering, physics, and materials science to create mechanical solutions that are safe, efficient, and reliable.
* Key Responsibilities:

*  Completes feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs.

*  Performs product design and development leveraging core mechanical knowledge in Computer-Aided Design, thermal, structural, and dynamic analysis.

*  Prepares detailed designs, design testing, and prototype fabrication.

*  Collaborates with cross-functional domains including Other Engineering Disciplines, Program Management, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance.

*  Completes assigned engineering tasks or projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines.

*  Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.

*  Works on problems with defined scope, schedule, and expectations.

*  Builds stable working relationships internally.

*  Provides design information for detailing packaging documentation.

*  Begins participating in the proposal process.

*  Identifies technical and organizational risks and ensures they are included in risk mitigation plans.
* Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.
