Responsibilities:
What You'll Do:
As a Festival Foods Meat Cutter, you will:
* Expert Meat Cutting: Utilize your meat cutting skills to prepare all non-case ready meat products, including cutting, grinding, wrapping, and trimming, according to established standards.
* Butchery Leadership: Provide expertise and leadership on the sales floor, ensuring safety and sanitation guidelines are followed, and inventory is effectively managed within the grocery store environment.
* Culinary Knowledge: Apply your extensive knowledge as a butcher, understanding different cuts of meat and cooking techniques to assist guests and ensure the best product offerings.
* Quality and Quantity Standards: Maintain and meet quality and quantity standards by filling all service and self-service cases, including fresh, frozen, and processed products.
* Team Support: Support your teammates and contribute positively to the culture of the Meat Department.
* Drive Sales: Increase sales by focusing on the details and ensuring products are visually appealing to our guests.
* Minimize Waste: Reduce shrink by following production lists, accurate trim standards, and minimizing waste.
* Product Management: Ensure meat products are properly packaged, labeled, and stored according to company policies and procedures.
* Training: Assist in training Utility team members in grinding, sausage making, cutting for the service counter, special orders, wrapping, and filling products.
* Cleanliness and Safety: Lead by example in maintaining the cleanliness of the department, including the operation, maintenance, and sanitization of equipment.
* Guest Services: Provide excellent service at the meat counter, offering expert knowledge and attentively assisting guests with their needs.
* Special Orders: Collect and fulfill special orders and requests in a timely manner.
* Teamwork: Perform other duties as needed to support the team.
* Honor Commitments: Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.
What We're Looking For:
To succeed as a Festival Foods Meat Cutter, you should have:
* Experience: Proven experience as a butcher or in meat cutting within a grocery store, retail, or meat production setting.
* Customer Focus: Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and all personnel.
* Communication Skills: Good oral and written communication skills.
* Product Knowledge: Knowledge of perishable foods, particularly meat.
* Age Requirement: Must be over the age of 18.

Work Schedule:
The Meat Cutter position can be part-time or full-time. The work schedule may include mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays, with flexibility to work evenings or overnight as needed.

Qualifications:

Responsible for working closely with all Meat Department associates to ensure that department goals are being obtained and guest needs are being met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Prepares all non-case ready meat products (cutting, grinding, wrapping, trimming) according to established standards.
* Provides expertise and leadership within sales floor, backroom operation, safety and sanitation guidelines, inventory management.
* Extensive knowledge of different cuts and cooking techniques of meat and seafood.
* Ensures all quality and quantity standards are being met. This includes filling of all cases as needed (service/self-service fresh, frozen, and processed cases).
* Supports teammates and positively contributes to the culture of the Meat Department.
* Increases sales by being fussy about the details and ensuring visually appealing products.
* Contributes to overall department goals and objectives by assisting other areas of the department as available and requested.
* Reduces shrink by following production lists, recipes, following accurate trim standards and minimizing waste.
* Ensures quality and date control standards for meat products.
* Ensures meat product is properly packaged, labeled, and stored in accordance with company policies and procedures.
* Assists in the training of the Utility team members including grinding, sausage making, cutting product for the service counter, cutting special orders, wrapping, and filling product.
* Contributes to overall cleanliness of the department while leading by example with the operation, maintenance, and sanitization of equipment.
* Provides excellent guests services by attentively assisting guest at service counter and providing expert knowledge on meat products.
* Collects special orders/ requests and completes them in a timely manner.
* Other duties as assigned.
* Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.
