Overview:
Schedule Requirement: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday; every other weekend required
As a Materials Coordinator, you play a vital behind-the-scenes role in patient care by ensuring our clinical teams have the supplies and equipment they need-every day, without interruption. This is an entry-level, hands-on role ideal for someone looking to start a career in healthcare, learn hospital operations, and grow within Novant Health over time.
This position follows a set schedule of 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with every other weekend required. Reliability and consistency are essential, as this role directly supports patient care and clinical operations.

Responsibilities:
* Serve as a key connection between hospital departments and Supply Chain Operations
* Stock, organize, and maintain supply levels in Med/Surg and other clinical areas
* Keep stock rooms and supply areas clean, safe, organized, and audit-ready
* Monitor product expiration dates and rotate inventory
* Manage specialty carts, kits, and select medical equipment
* Support shipping and receiving activities
* Work closely with clinical and supply chain team members to meet daily supply needs
* Perform frequent walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting throughout the shift
This is a physical, hands-on role-not administrative. The work can be repetitive at times, but it is essential, fast-paced, and directly supports patient care every day.
Qualifications:
Education
* High School Diploma or GED, required
* Some college coursework preferred (helpful for future growth and promotion opportunities)
Experience
* Experience in a healthcare environment, preferred
* Inventory, logistics, warehouse, or stockroom experience, preferred
Required Skills
* Ability to stand for long periods and perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting (up to 35 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs)
* Good vision and manual dexterity
* Comfort working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
* Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory management systems
Preferred Skills
* Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
* Experience using pallet jacks, dock boards, or hand trucks
