				Overview:

The NPI Engineering and Supply Chain Operations department works closely with the Zebra Supply Chain teams and its suppliers to successfully integrate new products into the EMS/JDM factories. The team works closely with the product development engineers to improve DFx (Design for Assembly/Manufacturing) and insure high quality and high yield production in the factory.

Develops and implements process improvements to existing products to support cost reduction goals and Lean Six Sigma and Smart Factory implementation as well.

Responsibilities:

* Establishes requirements for highly complex manufacturing projects and may lead a team responsible for establishing requirements. Insure correct features are incorporated first in the projects. Insures correct features are incorporated first in the projects
* Architects and designs highly complex manufacturing projects. Completes all phases of the projects. Follows through on all in-process and final inspection activities
* Develops and applies technical and quality improvements
* Creates new programs, technologies and solutions based on novel or unique ideas. Insures new ideas and methodologies are documented for use by teams
* Uses status as a knowledge leader in manufacturing and functional knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines and program management to provide technical leadership to a given program
* Defines requirements for and may design complex new tools to aid in the analysis and solving of complex problems
* Initiates cross-company collaboration and develops positive relationships with other engineering disciplines
* Exercises judgment (within broadly defined policies and practices) in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
* Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise. Interacts with management and senior customer personnel on matters requiring coordination across organizational lines. Represent the organization as the principal customer contact and often performs project leadership
* Candidate will be self-motivated and have the ability to access and plan his/her schedule according to business priorities
* Candidate will participate in design reviews and prototype builds to assess and provide DFx input for both PCBA and final assembly, track actions, and escalate issues as necessary
* Review the readiness of NPI manufacturing including documentations, fixtures, equipment and manpower for both PCBA and final assembly. Recommends corrective actions and implements changes when issue happens. Identifies and mitigates risks, develops and implements risk mitigation plans
* Lead and participate fixture/automation development during NPI phase, make sure those fixture/automation equipment meet Zebra LSS error proofing and productivity requirement.
* Provide training and guidance to the tier 1 suppliers as necessary to resolve problems when facing product quality/reliability issues related to PCBA and final assemblies. 
* Leader of Lean Six Sigma and Smart Factory implementation at our JDM/EMS supplier side during NPI stage.
* Lead the continuous improvement to find the opportunities for the products process improvement and cost saving.

Qualifications:

* BA/BS degree in an Engineering Discipline or relevant technology, from an accredited college or university is preferred. 
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Process Engineering including SMT, FATP.
* Extensive experience in PCBA DFM (Design for Manufacturability). Able to lead NPI manufacturability assessments (including BOM structure, PCBA layout, and process evaluations) and collaborate with R&D teams to improve design for manufacturability.
* In-depth knowledge of SMT & DIP assembly processes, with strong analytical and process improvement skills.
* Proficient in problem-solving methodologies (PDCA, 5Why, DMAIC) for systematic issue analysis.
* Familiar with lean manufacturing and six sigma green belt certification and Smart phone SMT is preferred. 
* Familiar with IPC-A-610 and other IPC standard.
* Strong in oral English.
