Responsibilities:
Position Summary
The Manager of Workforce Planning is responsible for leading the workforce planning across multiple operational workgroups.  This role ensures staffing levels and flight schedule are aligned with the airline's operating plan, training capacity, and budgetary targets in a reliable and efficient manner.  Job Responsibilities
* Lead team in engineering robust staffing models for Crew, Technical Operations, Stores, and training related workgroups.
* Lead the workforce planning review of proposed flight schedules and provide structured feedback to American regarding staffing supportability, risks, and tradeoffs.
* Champion a team responsible for delivering workforce and flight schedule plans that drive best in class operational performance and cost efficiency.
* Partner with Crew Planning and Labor Relations to ensure vacancy bids and base balancing activities are contractually compliant and operationally sound.
* Provide direct leadership for Workforce Planning Analysts, ensuring consistent analytical standards, prioritization, and accountability.
* Identify workforce related risks (e.g., base imbalances, training bottlenecks, attrition volatility) and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
* Lead workforce related variance analysis, reconciliation, and reporting, clearly communicating impacts and tradeoffs to senior leadership.
* Support annual and ad hoc planning exercises related to budget development, schedule changes, and operational resiliency.
* Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Qualifications
Required
* Bachelor's degree in Operation Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Math, Computer Science, Finance, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or related field.
* 5+ years of leading workforce planning in a complex multisite operation.
* Previous experience leading data driven decision making.
* Demonstrated experience developing workforce models and executing staffing decisions.
* Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced, operationally critical environment.
* Competence to influence others through outstanding interpersonal skills, collaboration, and negotiation skills.
* Ability to speak/read/write in English. 
* If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred
* Advanced degree in Operation Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Math, Computer Science, Finance, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or related field.
* Experience leading a team.
* Knowledge of airline industry.
* Knowledge of PSA's collective bargaining agreements.
Additional Information

Supervisory Responsibility: This is a supervisory position.

Delegation: In absence, responsibilities delegated to the Director of Manpower Planning. 

Authorities: None

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
