Responsibilities:
Oversees the daily management and functions of the accounts payable staff. Responsible for ensuring payments are made accurately and in a timely manner.
* Oversees the daily operations of the accounts payable staff.
* Determines and monitors goals and deadlines for the accounts payable department, and ensures the accurate and timely processing of all payments.
* Responds to all inquiries (phone, mail, email, etc.) from internal and external customers.
* Manages recurring invoice processes.
* Coordinates the final release to the general ledger each month.
* Oversees the codes for all incoming refund and rebate checks from vendors.
* Reviews and documents all data entry errors made by the data entry clerk and analysts.
* Orders accounts payable check stock and oversees ordering of all accounts payable office supplies.
* Recommends and implements changes to policies and procedures.
* Responsible for the professional and management development of department staff.
* Develops, coaches, and mentors direct and indirect reports. Conducts performance evaluations, recommends salary adjustments; takes disciplinary action as necessary.
* Reviews analysts' workload and reassigns as necessary.
* Maintains a working knowledge of community and regional operations management.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field and a minimum of five to seven years' experience in overseeing a large accounts payable processing operation; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge and Skills
Possesses extensive knowledge of a distinct skill or function and a thorough understanding of the organization and work environment. Has working knowledge of a functional discipline. Ability to effectively manage tasks and delegate work. Must understand the current accounts payable process and continue to evaluate the process for improvement opportunities. Strong communications skills; experience in managing a large staff.
