				Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY: The Nurse Manager supports nursing excellence through established leadership skills, behaviors, roles, and qualities, which support the management of operational resources that promote and align strategic goals, quality outcomes, and core measures. The Nurse Manager is a registered professional nurse who has 24-hour accountability of wound care at both the inpatient and outpatient department. Through strong assessment skills, communication and, collaboration supports self and unit function using the ability to identify, articulate, and resolve unit based needs. A primary role is as a coordinator of unit based nursing services to ensure delivery of quality patient care through the management of staffing and scheduling system. Collaboration between the Nurse Manager and Human Resources is critical to support workplace policies, procedures, and processes in addition to manage and delegate nursing activity. The Nurse Manager also collaborates with finance and supply chain to ensure unit fiscal responsibility and management of supplies and resources for the assigned unit. Overall, the Nurse Manager participates in leadership functions for the development of staff and self to assist and foster a collaborative foundation for positive relationships with the patient care team and promote interdisciplinary care resulting in positive patient outcomes. Works closely with the Healogics Program Director at the outpatient wound center.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
*  Education - BSN required; Professional knowledge of nursing theory, practice and administration in order to supervise the planning and implementation of care and ability to prepare necessary analyses, reports, policies and budgets at a level acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree from an approved School of Nursing. 
*  Licensure/Certification - Current state license as a Registered Nurse. 
*  Experience - Three to five years progressively more responsible experience with at least three years' experience in appropriate specialty area in order to develop expertise in nursing procedures, policies, and practices, to understand supplies and equipment used throughout the department, and to effectively schedule and coordinate unit activities. 
*  Interpersonal skills necessary in order to provide effective leadership to assigned personnel, maintain positive relationships among staff, physicians and Medical Center personnel, interact with patients and visitors. 
*  Analytical skills necessary to organize and direct the work of others, develop, implement and administer policies, procedures, budgets and nursing practices

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
*  Licensure/Certification - Recommend achieving national certification; preferably in Nurse Management/Leadership within two years of employment in manager position.
