Responsibilities:

Job Summary / Purpose
The role of the Manager of Surgical Services is to lead staff in providing the highest quality of patient care during the surgical process. The Manager of Surgical Services is responsible for the supervision, orientation, and continuing education of the Operating Room Staff, and is accountable to the Mkt Director Surgical Svcs for the coordination of all patient care given during the intraoperative phase of the surgical process. The Manager also assists with the development and implementation of the surgical systems goals, policies and procedures along with the adherence to AORN Standards and compliance with JCAHO and other regulatory guidelines.

Essential Function
Lead Staff in providing the highest quality of patient care during the surgical process.
Supervise, orient, and ensure continuing education of the operating room staff.
Assists with the development and implementation of the surgical systems, goals, policies, and procedures along with the adherence to AORN standards and compliance with JCAHO and other regulatory guidelines.
Provides direction in basic clinical practices in the operating room according to established guidelines of clinical job classification.
Conducts annual performance appraisals for staff which includes constant feedback when necessary.
Coordinates assignment of personnel within designated service based on competency levels, patient needs, and surgical case load.
Acts as a physician liaison between staff, patients, and executives.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN and Two years of experience in the operating room

Licenses/Certifications

Registered Nurse: GA (RN:GA) Yes upon hire Required and

Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR) N/A upon hire Required and

Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) N/A upon hire Required
