Overview: Job Description We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to establish and lead two brand-new teams at our Kolkata location, focused on developing a cutting-edge Angular UI for our product suite. This role is perfect for a leader with a strong background in Angular project delivery, who is eager to hire, mentor, and scale high-performing engineering teams. You will drive the technical strategy, ensure best practices, and work cross-functionally to deliver an exceptional user experience. If you're excited about building both teams and technology from the ground up, we want to hear from you! Responsibilities: * Ensure the delivery of timely high-quality results. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet business requirements through helping the team align with prioritized backlog while contributing to technical solutions by helping to define user stories * Ensure alignment with product vision through collaboration and frequent communication with technical and product leadership. Establish team organization in support of product direction * Lead a team to understand, adhere to and consistently implement the software development lifecycle. Proactively identify and communicate potential roadblocks to the team and leadership * Provide technical guidance, hands-on assistance and promote team culture with an emphasis on security, quality and engineering agility; remove barriers to enable the team to be productive * Execute department processes and standards to ensure alignment across the organization. Continuously improve processes through effective communication and acting as a motivator of change within the department * Contribute to and manage to an approved budget * Collaborate with team members and cross departmental stakeholders in creation, coordination and achievement of mutual goals * Assess employee and team performance against established quality metrics; track team performance against established metrics and hold direct reports accountable for meeting defined performance standards; provide feedback to employees * Perform all managerial functions and responsibilities associated with hiring, compensation management, employment relations and termination of employees * Develop team members; coach employees through their personal growth in functional expertise, communication skills and ability to effectively interact with clients and peers. Assist with identifying and developing future leaders * Operate as a thought leader among the team; contribute significantly to the overall growth and quality of the department * Serve as an escalation point for issues; provide guidance resolve issues as necessary and remove obstacles for team Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience * Relevant software industry experience * Demonstrated technical skills to effectively manage technical teams * Experience with Agile or willingness to learn and follow Agile Scrum or other appropriate principles and methodologies * Demonstrated fiscal responsibility/accountability in managing budgets * Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills * Excellent collaboration skills applied successfully within a team as well as other areas * Excellent attention to detail * Excellent interpersonal skills; able to maintain solid rapport with team members as well as maintain professionalism with those outside of department * Excellent leadership, sound judgement and business acumen skills * Excellent oral and written communication skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tact * Excellent organizational prioritization and time management skills * Excellent facilitation and project management skills * Excellent customer service orientation * Self-motivated with follow through and attention to detail * Proficiency with presentation and data analytics * Excellent ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and tact * Excellent ability to establish rapport and gain the trust of others; effective at gaining consensus * Able to thrive in a fast-paced deadline driven environment * Ability to coach mentor and provide feedback to team members in a timely manner * Excellent ability to develop use and deliver engaging informative and compelling presentation methodologies * Sharp Fast learner with technology curiosity and aptitude * Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Operating systems and products * Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook or equivalent email and calendar software * Excellent business and technology acumen * Proficiency with CI/CD principles * On call/after hours escalation may be required * Up to 5% travel time required
