We are seeking a Patient Care Manager for our Meridian Emergency Department. What to Expect:

The Manager of Nursing and Patient Care is responsible for managing operation of a single or multiple units based on size with 24/7 responsibility for all nursing and patient care activities to include: patient experience and consumer engagement, stewardship, culture and quality and safety. Direct reports include but aren't limited to Assistant Manager Nursing/Patient Care, RNs, HUCs and CNAs.

Full-Time 1.0 FTE

Qualifications:

* Education: Bachelors' of Nursing Degree
* Experience: 7 years' relevant nursing experience; Emergency and leadership experience highly preferred
* Licenses/Certifications: Current RN License from the State of Practice and Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross.

Responsibilities:

The Manager of Nursing and Patient Care is responsible for managing operation of a single or multiple units based on size with 24/7 responsibility for all nursing and patient care activities to include: patient experience and consumer engagement, stewardship, culture and quality and safety. Direct reports include but aren't limited to Assistant Manager Nursing/Patient Care, RNs, HUCs and CNAs.

* Accountable for achieving evidence-based protocols, harm index, HCAPS, readmissions, throughput targets, length of stay, avoidable days, vacancy, turnover, retention, direct report rounding, productivity, overtime, expense targets, work place safety and staff engagement performance metrics. 

* Provides increased leadership visibility through actively engaging in real-time patient rounding, to support coaching and mentoring of the patient care team. 

* Determines the appropriate staff mix to ensure adequate resources are available to meet patient care needs, to include: hiring, backfill and training of staff. 

* Develops staff and creates a culture of transparency, openness and support. 

* Initiate and foster continuous improvement within the department(s). Identify and resolve patient/customer satisfaction issues and complaints. 

* Identifies opportunities for improved financial performance, implements strategies to reduce costs and improve the quality of care/service and maintain a safe work environment. 

* Ensure compliance with regulations governing hospitals/area/service and practice/area/ service. Ensure that policy, procedures and standards are developed, implemented and maintained. 

* Communicates  program priorities, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent patient experience and optimal outcomes. 

* Participates in establishing and maintaining communication between ancillary departments, physicians, nursing personnel and other health care professions. 

* Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
