				Overview:

Avalara is looking for a Marketing Automation Manager to support and evolve our email operations strategy. You will focus on building, and optimising lifecycle programmes that grow engagement, conversion, and pipeline growth.

You will collaborate with Revenue Marketing, RevOps, and Sales teams to deliver email campaigns and nurture programmes. We ask that you have hands-on experience with Marketo, a operational mindset, and a data-informed approach to improve lifecycle performance.

You will report to Director, Marketing Operations

Responsibilities:

* Help develop Avalara's email marketing and lifecycle strategy using Marketo

* Grow nurture programmes, trigger-based campaigns, and batch email send

* Develop segmentation strategies to promote personalization and audience targeting

* Collaborate with partners to translate campaign requirements into scalable Marketo programmes

* Ensure execution of email campaigns, including QA, testing, and deployment

* Analyse email and lifecycle performance to identify optimization opportunities

* Provide guidance and lead the team members, juniors and contribute to the culture

Qualifications:

Qualifications

* 10+ years of experience in Marketing Operations, Email Marketing, or Lifecycle Marketing

* Hands-on expertise in Marketo (Adobe Marketo Engage)

* Experience building and scaling email nurture programmes and lifecycle campaigns

* Experience with segmentation, personalization, and engagement strategies

* Experience identifying lifecycle gaps, scoring challenges, and campaign performance opportunities

Technical Skills

* Experience of Marketo programme architecture, smart campaigns, tokens, and segmentation

* Understanding of email deliverability, testing, and performance optimization

* Familiarity with Salesforce for campaign visibility and reporting

Analytical & Strategic Skills

* You should have analytical experience with the ability to translate data into relevant insights

* Experience with funnel metrics, engagement scoring, and lifecycle reporting

* Identify systemic issues and implement scalable improvements

Leadership & Collaboration

* Experience working with Marketing, RevOps, and Sales teams

* Lead projects and influence outcomes, with or without direct authority

* Experience in B2B SaaS or high-growth technology environments

* Familiarity with tools such as 6sense and Salesforce

* Experience supporting global lifecycle programmes and regional campaign nuances
