PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Manager Credit Risk Analytics at our Tysons, Virginia location. The primary purpose of this job is to provide credit risk oversight and effective challenge of PenFed's mortgage business. Responsibilities include identification of emerging risks, analysis and monitoring of the firm's mortgage credit exposures and performance, and formulation of recommendations to ensure risks are consistent with our risk appetite and effectively managed. In addition, the position is responsible for the development and management of a mortgage credit data infrastructure to support second-line analytics.

* Conduct analysis of portfolio composition, performance, and trends; prepare reports and present findings; and provide insights and recommendations.
* Provide analytics to support the development of effective credit policies, portfolio management, and risk mitigation strategies.
* Identify needs and sources; actively participate in development of PenFed's credit data strategy and architecture; integrate diverse and complex data sets from various sources; understand and champion data quality.
* Collaborate with various functional areas of PenFed (including Credit Modeling, Mortgage Operations, Compliance, and Finance) to identify and mitigate risks associated with originations, servicing, and portfolio management processes.
* Leverage credit models and internal and external data to measure and monitor credit risk and evaluate efficacy of business strategies and processes in sourcing and managing risk exposures.
* Develop and execute statistical sampling methods for selection of loans for quality control review and analyze and report on sample results.
* Mentor analysts by providing guidance and training.
* Write memos and develop presentations summarizing analysis, results, and recommendations.
* Participate in external and internal audits, and regulatory examinations as needed.
* Provide thought leadership and foster collaboration to solve problems and achieve goals.
Qualifications:
Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.
* Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, Mathematics or Computer Science, that would provide the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions is required.
* Minimum of eight (8) years related work experience required.
* Minimum of 3 years of management experience required.
* Ability to use data to illustrate business performance, options and risks and develop materials for all levels of the company, from operational to C-level audiences.
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills required.
* Advance knowledge of SQL required. Advanced ability working with large data sets, databases and combining data from various data sources to generate reports and analytics.
* Significant Microsoft Excel skills and experience.
* Expert-level Tableau knowledge. This includes ability to use parameters, complex visuals, and additional features (export buttons, etc). Executive level visual creation for business significance.
* Preferred experience in the mortgage industry, specifically in mortgage originations/servicing with Encompass and MSP.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position will not supervise employees.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.
