What You Can Expect:

* Location- Breast Care Services Treasure Valley
* Schedule: Full time, Monday-Friday, choice of 8 or 10 hour shifts
* No on call required!
* Hologic equipment 
* 18-25 scans per day per tech depending on schedule.

Minimum Qualifications for this Role:

* Education: Associate degree or experience in lieu of degree 
* Licenses/Certifications: 
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross.
* American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification. 
* Mammography certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Responsibilities:

Performs a variety of routine mammography related procedures by operating x-ray equipment to perform exams.
-Technologists will educate patient, family or provider as to the extent and detail of each procedure, including informed consent as well as pre-and post-procedure instructions. 

* Responsible for the preparation of an adequate, complete, and current medical record for every individual evaluated. 

* Collect key information from the patient, family, provider, and nurses specific to the exam being performed in order to assist the provider in the proper diagnosis. 

* Educate patient, family or provider on the extent and detail of each procedure, which may include informed consent and pre
* and post-procedure instructions. 

* Ensure the proper exam is being performed. Consult provider as needed. 

* Verification and quality check of performed images on picture archiving and communication system (PACS). 

* Maintain proper inventory levels of supplies as required. 

* Perform daily equipment inspections. 

* Performs tasks with little to no supervision. 

* May assist provider during diagnostic procedures. 

* May participate in performance improvement initiatives. 

* May participate in interviews, training, onboarding processes. 

* May oversee quality functions for mammography sites, ensuring consistency and accuracy. 

* May be responsible for Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and American College of Radiology (ACR) certification requirements for each site. 

* Practice guidelines specific to ALARA policy (As Low As Reasonably Achievable). 

* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

* Licenses/Certifications: 
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross.
* American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification. 
* Mammography certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
