Overview:
Position Summary
A Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the efficient operation of a building's infrastructure and systems. This includes HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and general maintenance tasks. The role supports both routine upkeep and emergency repairs to keep facilities safe, functional, and compliant.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
* Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
* Conduct general repairs: painting, carpentry, lighting adjustments, furniture assembly, and minor construction.
* Support custodial and groundskeeping tasks as needed.
* Assist with event setup/teardown and A/V equipment support.
* Monitor building systems and respond to service requests or work orders.
* Collaborate with outside contractors and vendors during repairs or installations.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inspections.
Qualifications:
* Basic knowledge of building systems: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry.
* Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
* Familiarity with safety protocols and compliance standards.
* Strong communication and organizational skills.
* Physical ability to lift, climb, and perform manual tasks.
* High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred.
