POSITION SUMMARY: A Maintenance Tech performs a wide variety of tasks related to general maintenance and repair functions. Under direct supervision, and in compliance with established departmental and regulatory agency procedures and guidelines, performs routine and basic maintenance and grounds tasks. Repairs minor utility systems components and performs duties required to complete the Room PMs. Assembles, repairs, and PMs various types of furniture, small appliances, and equipment. Uses hand and power tools and various measurement and test instruments. Qualifications: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * High School diploma or GED equivalent. * Ability to understand verbal and written instructions and to give readily understood information in both verbal and written forms. * Ability to read and write is essential. * Analytical skills necessary in order to diagnose and repair equipment, utility components, and furniture. * Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity and shop mechanic skills are an advantage. * Valid driver's license required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Approximately six months to one year of related work experience is preferred in order to gain knowledge of equipment repair.
