Responsibilities:

The Plant Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising skilled and unskilled mechanics, electricians, oilers, truck drivers, groundskeepers in the Plant Maintenance Department.  The Maintenance Supervisor also supervises all operators associated with the Boiler House.  Ensures that the department efficiently and effectively provides value added services as prioritized by the Plant Maintenance Manager.  The Plant Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for anticipating and communicating relevant issues to the Maintenance Manager and or Plant Engineer.  The Maintenance Supervisor assists with issues relating to risk management.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.  Supervise a group of union employees (35+) in order to achieve objectives as prioritized by the Plant Maintenance Manager.

2.  Prepare daily work assignments based on priorities, available manpower, parts, and equipment.

3.  Answer and respond to requests for maintenance from operations supervisors and managers.

4.  Instill accountability in employees by documenting assigned tasks and reviewing the work when completed.  Coach when necessary.   Document substandard work.

5.  Troubleshoot maintenance problems and identify solutions

6.  Assist with spare parts acquisition to inventory management

7.  Assist with equipment technical library

8.  Ensure that all plant policies and procedures are adhered to

9.  Ensure that health and safety procedures are followed in the workplace

10. Prepare monthly production reports as assigned

11. Verify pay information for each employee supervised

12. Supervise personnel in the Boiler Department

13.Operate the Boilers according to the policies of the Plant Engineer

14. Maintain professional demeanor personal conduct

Salary range - $81,612 - $122,419

*Placement within the salary range is calculated based upon years of directly relatable experience for the position.

Qualifications:

Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience in a unionized maintenance and/or production team.

Required Qualifications

*  Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field.

*  5+ years HR-related experience including minimum 3 years of leadership experience within a HR shared services or similar operations role.

*  Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and best practices in a Shared Services environment.

*  Experience managing a team and leading through change management and transformation.

*  Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to drive decision-making.

*  Experience with various HR information systems and technologies such as ServiceNow and call center technologies.

*  Exceptional project management skills and experience with the ability to manage multiple projects, initiatives and deadlines concurrently.

*  Analytical skills with the ability to resolve a wide variety of complex issues or problems.

*  Excellent organizational and oral/written communication skills.

*  Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

*  Successful candidate will be self-directed, motivated, dependable, detail-oriented, and be a strong team player; this includes showing a drive for results, inquisitiveness, and adaptability.
