Minimum Qualifications for this Role:

* Education: Associates degree or experience in lieu of degree
* Licenses/Certifications:
* American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI);
* OR American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) certification.
* American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider certification.

Responsibilities:

Prepares and assists patients during MRI exams and testing. Operates MRI equipment for diagnostic and/or therapeutic purposes. Prepares and maintains MRI records.

-Technologists will educate patient, family or provider as to the extent and detail of each procedure, including informed consent as well as pre-and post-procedure instructions. 
- Collect key information from the patient, family, provider, and nurses that are specific to the exam being performed to assist the provider in the proper diagnosis. 
- Maintain EPIC/Radiant patient record, documentation within patient record per policy. 
- Educate patient, family or provider as to the extent and detail of each procedure, may include informed consent as well as pre and post-procedure instructions. 
- Ensuring compliance with healthcare and Joint Commission standards. 
- Actively participates in the pursuit of St. Luke's Health System goals for safer patient experiences. 
- Ensure patient is properly dressed and screened before entering MRI safety zone 3. Adhere to MRI safety zones (1-4) per policy. 
- Verify completeness and accuracy of MRI patient screening questionnaire. 
- Maintain compliance with MRI Safety practices. 
- Assist provider in performing invasive procedures. 
- Research and document patients' medical history to assure that the patient is safe to be in the MRI environment. Verify completeness and accuracy of MRI patient screening questionnaire, review implants and surgeries with radiologist as needed for MRI scan clearance. 
- Ensure the proper exam (protocol) is being administered to the patient. Ensure proper patient positioning, coil selection and coil positioning. Consult provider as needed. 
- Maintain proper inventory levels of all supplies as required. 
- Perform daily equipment inspections and QA. Participate in call rotation as needed. 
- Performs the most advanced tasks with little to no supervision. 
- Identify patient needs and determine priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. 
- May be responsible for accreditation requirements, site specific. 
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

* Education: Associates degree or experience in lieu of degree
* Experience: 0 years' relevant experience.
* Licenses/Certifications:
* American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI);
* OR American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) certification.
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross.
