Responsibilities:

Analyzing lab testing is pretty complex! Are you an experienced Medical Lab Scientist with a passion for improving and measuring laboratory processes? You will work with the Laboratory Managment Team to organize, plan, and coordinate Qaulity Assurance and Process Improvement activities, utilizing LEAN design prinicples and application of best practices. You'll help optimize and ensure compliance for all sections of the lab to be in line with CAP, CLIA, and Joint Commission standards. Become a Lab Quality Assessment Coordinator with CHI today!

What you'll do:

* Evaluate laboratory workflow and processes, identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities
* Institute practice to gather staff feedback and ideas for process improvement, and develop project plans to institute process improvements and track progress
* Hardwire process improvement through continuing education and feedback and work with lab leadership to track progress of process improvement initiatives
* Interpret and implement quality assurance standards, evaluate existing laboratory policies and procedures, and determine effectiveness of quality assurance program
* Work with management to ensure that section-specific quality assurance programs meet accreditation requirements and contribute to the overall laboratory quality program.
* Select specific topics for review, including new procedures/programs, high-risk and high-volume tests, and recurring areas of concern from regulatory and accreditation activities
* Compile statistical data and produce narrative and graphical reports summarizing quality assurance and process improvement activities
* Work closely with the laboratory leadership to conduct regular assessments of survey readiness and specific optimization projects
* Facilitate the preparation of formal corrective actions, audit-related corrective actions, and preventive actions and ensure they are implemented in a timely manner
* Support Laboratory and Employee safety program, and events related to the Laboratory Proficiency Testing program

Qualifications:

What you'll need:

* Bachelor's degree in Medical Lab Science or Medical Technology, or related field defined by CLIA
* 2 years clinical lab experience as Medical Laboratory Scientist or MEdical Technologist
* Skilled multi-tasker, clear communicator, and active listener who knows right questions to ask in order to understand the team's needs

Preferred:

* ASCP certification as MT or CLS or MLS
* Two additional years experience in lab quality assurance or process improvement
