				Overview:
This position exists to prioritize the day-to-day activities of Medical Record clerical support.
Responsibilities:
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(*Essential Functions)

* Assembles, analyzes, creates medical records according to guidelines with 98% accuracy.
* Completes request for Release of Information within established timelines.
* Assists in Transcription for clerical purposes as needed.
* Assists physicians with chart completion process.
* Files and retrieves Medical Records using the terminal digit numbering system.
* Reconciles medical record discharge report with medical records picked up from units/departments.
* Retrieves discharged medical records (inpatient and outpatient) from departments within the Methodist Hospitals.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

* Knowledge of the medical record numbering system.   
* Must demonstrate good communication skills.   
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment.   
* Must be professional, courteous, and have a positive attitude. 

EDUCATION

* High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required
