Overview:
The Medical Assistant - Registered will assist the health care team in providing excellent customer service and quality patient care by performing a variety of clerical and patient-related tasks. Duties may include but are not limited to: reaching out and engaging patients to complete preventative and routine chronic care via mychart, hello world, telephone calls, and written letters. Duties will be performed primarily from a virtual, remote work setting, with occasional meetings, trainings and/or other obligations that require on site attendance.
Position Reports To: Outpatient Case Management Supervisor
Responsibilities:
* Outreaches patients from designated reports or lists, communicates in a professional and friendly manner, and speaks intelligently to the Annual Wellness Visit service and importance of this and other health maintenance topics.
* Schedules Medicare Annual Wellness Visits and potentially other appointments or screenings as directed by department leadership. Instructs the patient on what to expect and how to complete any services scheduled. Provides follow-up callbacks to patients if indicated and maintains documentation in EMR for tracking work completed.
* Communicates with the health care team and department staff to relay important information as indicated.
* Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
* High School or GED.
* Basic computer skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Medical Assistant - Registered.
* Basic Life Support (CPR).
Desired:
* Previous experience as a Medical Assistant Registered, Scheduler, or Receptionist in an ambulatory care setting.
* Knowledge of medical terminology.
