Qualifications:
* Education: Degree from an accredited occupational or physical therapy program.
* Experience: 3 years relevant experience
* Licenses/Certifications:
* Valid license to practice occupational or physical therapy in state of practice and
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross.
* Preferred Qualifications: Lymphology Association of North America (LANA) Certification
Responsibilities:
Occupational Therapists (OTs) are health care professionals who develop, improve, sustain, or restore independence in activities required in daily life to any person who has an injury, illness, disability or psychological dysfunction. Occupational Therapist - Expert Level responsibilities involve advanced level duties. Serves as role model for the care of patients with conditions common to their area of expertise.
* Perform initial and ongoing comprehensive evaluation including, but not limited to, collecting subjective and objective data, analysis of data, and creation of treatment plan.
* Administers interventions consistent with treatment plan based on evidence based best practice, provider protocol and governing standards.
* Follows policies and procedures in accordance with all regulatory agency requirements.
* Document care based on standards of practice, patient acuity and/or clinical priorities.
* Maintain professional relationships and convey relevant information to other members of the healthcare team within facility and any applicable referral agencies.
* Maintain patient confidence and protects organization operations by keeping information confidential.
* Independently manages the care of patients with conditions common to the unit/area of assignment. Exercises initiative and independent judgment. Manages caseload and maintains productivity standards for unit consistently.
* Serve as clinical instructor to students, as appropriate.
* Serve as mentor to entry and intermediate level clinicians, as appropriate.
* Direct the work of aides and assistants, as appropriate.
* May provide in-service training in areas of recognized expertise at the local, regional and state level and mentor students during fieldwork experience.
* Identifies opportunities for program improvement and leads team for implementing change, seeking guidance, as appropriate.
* Demonstrate ability to develop evidence-based protocols and clinical pathways in area of expertise.
* Demonstrates ability to perform additional job duties that may include mentorship/teaching for other staff members and students, protocol and program development, and research.
* Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
