Overview:
GovCIO is currently hiring for a Linux Systems Instructor to teach individuals about the Linux operating system. This position will be located in Columbia MD, and will be an on-site position.
Responsibilities:
Create and deliver engaging learning experiences, often through lectures, hands-on labs, and assessments, to equip learners with the skills to effectively use and manage Linux systems. Assisting students with technical issues related to Linux, providing guidance and solutions for troubleshooting. Conducts training sessions, demonstrations, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.Strong understanding of Linux distributions (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu), command-line tools, system administration, networking, and security. Ability to adapt to different learning styles and adjust training approaches to meet diverse student needs.
* Designing and updating LiFostering a collaborative and inclusive learning environment, encouraging active participation and knowledge sharing among students. nux training materials, including course outlines, presentations, and hands-on exercises, to align with industry standards and best practices.
* Conducting engaging and informative lectures, workshops, and labs on various Linux topics, catering to different skill levels.
* Providing practical, real-world scenarios for students to apply their knowledge and develop hands-on experience with Linux systems.
* Evaluating student performance through assignments, projects, and exams, providing constructive feedback to support their learning and skill development.
Qualifications:
High School with 10+ years (or commensurate experience)
Required Skills and Experience
* Clearance Required: Secret
* 6+ years of experience delivering advanced cybersecurity training, specializing in Linux-based systems and security principles
* Skilled in instruction (ISD, ADDIE, Bloom's taxonomy, SAMR) and communication.
* IAT Level II or higher
* CompTIA Linux +

Preferred Skills and Experience:
* Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or IT
* Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC), and/or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
