As a Lead Teacher, you are the heartbeat of our organization and your time will be spent in a supportive, team environment with resources to help you flourish and leaders who care about your success.

As a Lead Teacher you will be responsible for the supervision and management of the classroom in accordance with the mission and curriculum of Mercy Employee Child Care Center. As a Lead Teacher with us, you will use your education and experience in the field to create a classroom learning environment that is loving and developmentally appropriate and meets the physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs of each individual child.

Qualifications:

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

Experience or Education Requirements

Must meet one (1) of the following 8 types of experience requirements: 

* A Bachelor's degree in one of the following major areas of study:
* Early Childhood Education
* Elementary Education
* Special Education
* Child Psychology
* Family and Child Development

* A Bachelor's degree in an area not listed above with two(2) three-semester hour Early Childhood  Education college courses with one course being either Introduction to Early Childhood Education (ECE 101) or guidance strategies (ECE 103) and at least 970 (6 months) hours of verified experience in the care and supervision of four or more children six years of age who are not related to you.
* Current Certification as a Child Development Associate (CDA) or Certified Child Care Professional (CCP) or other development approved credential.
* Completion of a vocational or occupational education sequence in child growth and development and at least 1,820 hours (12 months) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four or more children six years of age who are not related to you.
* Completion of a course of training approved by the department that includes training and work experience with children and at least 1,820 hours (12 months) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four of more children six years of age who are not related to you.
* Twelve semester hours in college-level credits in child growth and development and/or early childhood education, which must include either introduction to early childhood education (ECE 101) or Guidance strategies (ECE 103) and at least 1,395 (9months) hours of verified experience in the care and supervision of four or more children six years of age who are not related to you
* An Associates degree in child development or Early Childhood Education & sixty semester hours in Early Childhood Education which must include either introduction to early childhood education (ECE 101) or guidance strategies (ECE 103) and at least 910 hours (6 moths) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four or more children six years of age who are not related to you.
* At least 3,640 hours (24 months) of Verified experience in the care and supervision of four o more children six years of age who are not related to you plus either: 
* A current Colorado Level 1 credential
* Two(2) three credit college courses with one course being either Introduction to early Childhood Education (ECE 101) or  guidance strategies (ECE 103)

Physical Requirements:

* Sedentary work -(prolonged periods of sitting and exert up to 10lbs force occasionally). 

This is a benefits eligible position that will cover our Wobbler room.
