Responsibilities:

The Food Service Supervisor performs a variety of kitchen duties as assigned and/or instructs inmate labor in preparation and serving of correctional facility meals in accordance with departmental work production standards, standardized recipes, and work instructions.

Please note: Supervisory duties are in relation to supervising inmate labor.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

* Independently prepares, assists, or instructs inmate labor/team members in the preparation of a variety of food items in accordance with departmental work production standards, standardized recipes, and Institution work instructions.
* Will be required to handle production paperwork and/or sanitation paperwork essential to be in compliance with facility procedures.
* Responsible for ensuring the cleaning and maintenance of all food service equipment and work areas is completed; confirm proper safety and sanitation practices are being followed.
* Follows prescribed institution requirements in all preparation, oversight, and serving of correctional facility meals
* Follows assigned institution housekeeping and safety practices as instructed.
* Stores food and supplies in accordance with instructions.
* Performs in high volume food production facilities preparing food for large groups.
* May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or Equivalent, and you must be at least 18 years of age.
* 1 year or more of experience working in a food service role.
* Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience is a plus.

* Ability to lift up to 50 lb.
* Ability to stand for long periods of time.
