Responsibilities:
Job Summary
The Lead Exercise Physiologist is a member of a multi-disciplinary team which offers comprehensive treatment strategies to provide positive outcomes of individual participants and for the overall Cardiac Rehabilitation program. The Lead Exercise Physiologist acts as a subject matter expert for all phases Cardiac Rehabilitation to develop, implement, monitor and evaluates exercise programs for patients with cardiovascular disease and other co-morbidities.
Essential Functions

* Applies critical thinking to assess, plan, and implement day-to-day cardiac rehab operations, and communicates updates to team members. Delegates team member duties in relation to patient needs, and manage evolving demands from team members, physicians, equipment, and scheduling. Leads daily huddles and monthly meetings as assigned. Assists with patient reviews to determine program eligibility and support weekly staff timecard review and approvals. Serves as a resource to others, including staff, patients, families, physicians, and visitors. Facilitates inter/intra departmental communications and promotes problem solving.
* Independently and collaboratively and performs patient assessments/re-assessments, education, and comprehensive documentation of patients' individual exercise programs. Monitors and records patient responses to rehab program. Collaborates with members of the multidisciplinary team and modifies and/or progresses patient exercises according to the rehab policies and procedures. Communicates all appropriate exercise responses to the patient's physician and implements adjustments, if necessary, based on physician recommendation. Supports daily supervision of individual and group exercise programs.
* Contributes as an active participant on the cardiac rehab team. Maintains competency of department safety policy and procedures.
* Performs other departmental duties related to health promotion, staff meetings, public relations, marketing of Exercise Rehabilitation program, record keeping, and scheduling, measures/fits clients for compression garments.
Education

* Master's Degree Exercise Science or Related - Preferred
* Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or related field - Required
Experience

* More than a year experience - Preferred
* 1 year Exercise Science - Required
Licenses and Certifications

* Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
* Rehab\ACSM - Exercise Specialist or Personal Trainer 180 Days - Required
