Overview: GovCIO is currently hiring for a Lead Application Developer / Merrifield Site Manager with an active Secret clearance to lead the design, development, and deployment of complex applications and microservices as part of a cross-domain solution to support classified development and provide on-site supervision. This position will be located in Merrifield, VA and will be a fully onsite position. Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities: * Collaborate with product owners, champions, and stakeholders to identify, document, and integrate requirements into features as part of a modern software development lifecycle. * Utilize Agile for the management and delivery of work across the software development team. * Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior and mid-level developers. * Collaborate with architects, product managers, and cross-functional teams to define technical solutions and ensure alignment with business goals. * Conduct thorough code reviews and enforce best practices in software engineering. * Optimize application performance, scalability, and maintainability. * Design and implement robust CI/CD pipelines to support automated build, test, and deployment processes. * Work closely with DevOps teams to improve delivery pipelines, infrastructure automation, and deployment strategies. * Ensure the security, reliability, and compliance of applications through thoughtful design and automation. * Participate in system architecture discussions and influence key technical decisions. * Investigate and resolve complex technical issues in development, testing, and production environments. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's with 12+ years (or commensurate experience) * 7+ years of professional Java development experience * Expertise with Java frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JPA * Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain and hold DEA suitability * Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript * Deep understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and Java best practices * Expertise with Java frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JPA * Solid understanding of RESTful web services and API design * Experience with version control systems (Git using ADO or GitHub) * Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum teams * Effectively communicate in English; both oral and written * Multi-task along with attention to detail * Self-motivation, organization, time-management, and deductive problem-solving skills * Work independently and as part of a team * Networking, web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), Microsoft Windows * Familiarity with build tools like Maven or Gradle * Strong understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORM tools * Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and test-driven development (TDD) Preferred: * Experience in working with ColdFusion
