Responsibilities:

How you'll make an impact in this role

* Supervision and Crew Management:Oversees a crew of 4-8 employees and manages the daily work performed.
* Safety and Inventory Management:Ensures adherence to all safety policies, assists with weekly safety training and inspections, and helps maintain proper inventory of materials, equipment, and supplies.
* Horticultural and Grounds Maintenance:Performs a wide variety of tasks to maintain an attractive landscape, including weed control, perennial cultural practices, pruning, pest treatments, planting, routine lawn care (grass cutting, edging), and seasonal clean-up.
* Equipment Operation and Labor:Operates various mechanical equipment (mowers, back hoes, bobcats, tillers, chainsaws, etc.), moves materials, digs holes and trenches, hauls/spreads materials, and performs snow removal.
* Additional Duties and Support:Provides training to Landscaping Technicians, maintains assigned equipment, responds politely to customer inquiries, applies chemicals under direction, and assists Facilities Maintenance staff and special projects, including painting during the winter season.

Qualifications:

What minimum requirements you'll need

* High school diploma or GED.
* Valid State Driver's License and insurable with company's agent.  
* Commercial Driver's License (CDL) -preferred.
* Pesticide Certification -preferred.

Knowledge:

* Experience:Requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience in landscaping or horticultural work, with previous experience in a health care setting preferred.
* Horticultural and Training Expertise:Must possess a working knowledge of standard horticultural practices and the ability to train new associates on processes and equipment.
* Essential Skills:Must be able to read and write in the English language and proficiently operate a truck and trailer combination.
* Professional Conduct and Aptitude:Expected to report to work on time and perform assigned duties; strong oral communication, job planning skills, and mechanical aptitude are preferred.
