				Overview:

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a licnesed Project Engineer to join our Land Development (Civil/Site) team in our Lansing, MI office! 

We engage with our clients as a strategic partner providing complete civil and site consulting and engineering services to both public and private clients. This partnership begins with comprehensive site feasibility evaluations as part of the due diligence process to identify potential pitfalls and implement strategies to overcome them. We have extensive experience in traditional residential development as well as commercial project types including office, retail, financial, educational, restaurant, mixed-use, healthcare, landfill, energy, industrial, and warehouse.

Responsibilities:

* Design land development projects using Civil 3D including site, grading, and utilities.
* Review of municipal zoning and land development ordinances and applicable agency regulations to determine land development limitations for the property.
* Knowledge of stormwater management design regulations.  
* Grading design to ensure value engineering is achieved through earthwork analysis, and site safety is accomplished using appropriate design slopes.
* Design of utility systems including stormwater conveyance, sanitary sewer service, pump station design, water, gas, telephone service, etc. Also involves determination and resolution of vertical and horizontal utility conflicts that may exist.
* Soil erosion and sediment control design including stability calculations, best management practices, swale design, spillway design, and determination of construction sequence.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering required.
* 5+ years of related land development (civil/site) experience required. 
* PE license required.
* Demonstrated Civil 3D skills with the ability to design site layouts concept through completion.  
* Experience with MicroStation, HydroCAD, WaterCAD, HEC-HMS/-RAS, OpenRoads, and InRoads is a plus.
* Prior experience with business development, project management, client facing, or estimating costs is a plus. 
* Proficiency in technical skills in storm water management, hydraulics, hydrological analysis, grading, and other site development related designs. 
* Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
