Job Summary:

Ensures highest quality standards of housekeeping and guest services are met in clean, orderly, attractive, and properly stocked public areas. Escorts guests to their rooms and carries luggage to and from guest rooms.  Support duties include cleaning bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, handling guest requests, etc. with attention to detail and providing exceptional guest service. Lifting, bending, climbing stairs and excessive movement involved.  Must assist in other departments or with other job duties as requested or necessary.

Season Dates: early-May through late-September 2026
Pay: TBD
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities:

Performs any combination of the following tasks to maintain hotel, lodge or motor inn guest accommodations and public areas in a clean and orderly manner: 

* Does the heavy cleaning of lobby, public porches, walkways, and hallways.  May be assigned cleaning duties in recreation rooms.  Cleans public restrooms and surrounding areas.
* Escorts incoming hotel guests to rooms and assists in handling luggage.
* Offers information pertaining to available services and facilities, points of interest, attractions.
* Organizes and manages group tour baggage pulls and keeps track of the number of bags each group has.
* On opening a room for guests, ensures it is in order and properly stocked with amenities. Also explains operation of the heater, lights, etc. 
* Will deliver messages, extra towels, ice, rollaway beds, cribs, and run errands, etc. to guest rooms according to instructions from front desk.
* May build and maintain fire in lobby and other public room fireplaces.
* May cut and chop wood and kindling for fires.
* May give walking tours to arriving guests and groups on locations.
* Cleans rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using vacuum cleaner, brushes, and shampooing machines.  Washes and polishes floors by hand or machine.
* Maintain cleanliness of housekeeping vacuums, closets, storage areas, and other equipment.
* May wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, metal work, windows and blinds.  
* May set up rooms for conventions, sales meetings, banquets and social functions inclusive of decorations, amplifying equipment, furniture and other apparatus. 
* Provide guests with the best in service, courtesy and care.
* May be required to assist with room turnover in the evenings.
* May render personal assistance to room guests in line of duty.

Qualifications:

* Must be able to work alone and often without direct supervision.
* Must have an adaptable approach to daily chores and possesses a flexible attitude
* Must be organized with an eye for detail.
* Ability to follow instructions and count accurately.
* Knowledge of Company policies and procedures, willingness to comply with both.
* Commitment to keep up the quality of Housekeeping Standards learned during the training period.

Physical Requirements include:

* Lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds as needed throughout the day. Constant lifting and carrying of supplies and guest luggage throughout the day.
* Constant moving, walking, kneeling, bending, stretching, reaching, carrying heavy objects, and climbing staircases (no elevator available) for up to 8 hours per shift. Handles large amount of baggage by cart or hand. 
* Standing for long periods of time, frequent walking up and down stairs, as well as in outdoor areas sporadically throughout the day.
* Pushing a hotel cart or cabin cart up to 50-75 pounds as needed. 
* Working safely with required chemicals.
