				Overview:

The Lab Courier provides transport and support for Nationwide Children's Hospital, the Department of Laboratory Medicine and their clients. Couriers are responsible for driving NCH provided vehicles for courier routes, with exception to those positions defined in NCH courier procedures. Completes all duties with a first time right mindset.

Schedule: Full-Time, 2PM-10PM, must be able to work on a weekend and holiday rotation, Benefits Eligible 

Responsibilities:

* Maintains schedule to complete routine and on-demand routes daily. 
* Handles pick-ups and deliveries from lab, pharmacy, homecare, referring hospitals, clinics, physician offices and outpatient centers. 
* Documents all route information and pick-ups per department guidelines.
* Evaluates and monitors weather conditions throughout shift to preplan for anticipated trips and delays throughout region.
* Maintains safety of cargo and vehicle in accordance with hospital guidelines.
* Assists in training of new staff and documents their progress per department guidelines.
* Provides customer service in an efficient and effective manner to ensure customer satisfaction and quality patient care.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Licensure: Valid Ohio driver's license as required by hospital policy. Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children's Hospital

Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills and basic computer knowledge. Ability to use hospital provided cell phone and communication tracking system.
