Responsibilities:

Laboratory Sample Preparation, Testing & Analysis

* Prepare and test materials following clearly defined procedures.
* Perform chemical testing as per ASTM or other published standards.
* Prepare samples for chemical analysis according to lab procedures.
* Operate and calibrate ICP-OES spectrometers, Leco combustion analyzers, and other lab equipment.
* Conduct basic maintenance of laboratory equipment.
* Record and report results accurately and in a timely manner.

Support of Laboratory Operations

* Ensure all instruments, tools, equipment, and computers are maintained, calibrated, and in good working condition.
* Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized laboratory and testing area.
* Keep accurate equipment files including datasheets, maintenance logs, and calibration records.
* Follow laboratory work orders and instructions, providing results in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

* B.Sc. or related technology/technician diploma preferred.
* Minimum 2 years of relevant laboratory experience preferred.
* Experience with ICP-AES and Leco combustion analysis methods is an asset.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Team player with a willingness to learn and develop on the job.
