Overview:
The Lab Courier transports and delivers medical specimens, documents, packages and supplies timely and effectively. This position requires flexibility, reliability, organization and a good knowledge of the geographical area.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functi
* Deliver medical specimens, documents, packages, supplies, and other items to destinations in a timely and effective manner.
* Load vehicles with items being delivered, ensuring items are loaded correctly and taking precautions with hazardous goods.
* Unload and sort items collected along delivery routes.
* Receive messages or materials to be delivered, and information on recipients, such as names, addresses, telephone numbers, and delivery instructions, communicated via telephone, two-way radio, or in person.
* Plan and follow the most efficient routes for delivering goods.
* Adherence to compliance and completion of compliance training.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education
* High School Diploma or equivalent required.
* Must possess a valid United States driver's license (probationary not acceptable) and an acceptable driving safety record.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Must have valid and current Driver's license to operate a company or personal vehicle, with current auto insurance while on company hours.
* Must be able to successfully meet driver safety standards.
* Must be reliable and able to work flexible schedules in a 24-hour environment.
* Must have basic understanding of computers.
* Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and the public.
* Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.
* Ability to use time productively and contribute to high levels of company operational efficiency and effectiveness.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
Physical Demands
* Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
* Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
* Ability to sit for large portions of a workday.
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
* Ability to reach above, below and at shoulder level.
* Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, squat, and climb.
For this position, the base pay is $16.00 per hour.
