Overview: Presbyterian Hospital is hiring skilled Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our Med-Surg team. Our Medical-Surgical Unit is a vital part of our hospital, offering a dynamic and supportive environment where LPNs are valued members of the care team. The LPN will work under the supervision of RNs and physicians to provide direct patient care, support recovery, and ensure a safe and healing environment for patients with a variety of medical and post-surgical needs. Provides direct patient care in the acute care setting in the inpatient area utilizing various nursing skills and established standards of care at the direction of a registered nurse. How you grow, learn and thrive matters here. * Educational and career development options, including tuition and certification reimbursement, scholarship opportunities * Earn your PN degree with Presbyterian Nursing Career Pathways, powered by Brookline College * Strongline Staff Safety (a wearable badge that allows nurses to quickly and discreetly call for help when safety is a concern) * Shift differentials for nights and weekends * Differentials for higher education, certifications and various lead roles * Malpractice liability insurance * Loan forgiveness through the New Mexico Higher Education Department * EPIC electronic charting system Responsibilities: Provide direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, assisting with mobility, and supporting activities of daily living * Administer prescribed medications, injections, and IV therapies under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician. * Assist in dressing changes, wound care, and post-surgical care according to physician orders. * Observe and report changes in patient conditions, including symptoms, reactions to treatments, or changes in vital signs. * Work closely with RNs, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team to implement individualized care plans for patients. * Provide patients and families with instructions regarding post-discharge care, medication regimens, and follow-up appointments. * Adhere to infection control protocols, including proper hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and sterile techniques. * Assist in responding to patient emergencies and follow protocols to ensure timely and appropriate care. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED * Nursing Diploma * Licensed Practical Nurse-NM or out of state compact LPN license * BLS required at time of hire
