Overview:
Eastside Maternal-Fetal Medicine is a group of physicians, nurses, sonographers, dietitians, diabetic educators, and genetic counselors who provide obstetrical care and screening for pregnant women in Bellevue, WA and surrounding areas. We work with obstetricians and midwives in the local community to support maternal and fetal health in pregnancies that may be at increased risk of complication due to maternal age, pre-existing maternal conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes, multiple gestation such as twins and triplets, and many other issues. We provide a screening service for low-risk pregnancies to ensure that every family has access to top quality ultrasound imaging and education regarding screening options.
Responsibilities:
The LPN provides direct patient care and works with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients in an office based setting.
* Possess and maintain a State Licensed Practical Nursing license.
* Accurately calculate medication dosages.
* Assists the physicians and nurse practitioners as needed.
* Provides telephone triage and properly documents all patient, physician and other contacts.
* Participates in revenue cycle by ensuring authorizations and referrals are in place and notifying the Billing Associate of needs for further authorizations.
* Documents correct CPT and ICD-10 codes for services provided.
* Cleans, stocks, and prepares examination rooms. Keep rooms comfortable for patients, physicians and nurse practitioners.
* Monitors medical supply inventory.
* Maintains patient confidentiality.
* Communicates effectively and courteously with and demonstrates a caring attitude toward patients and their families.
* Treats all patients and their families with dignity and respect.
* Uses standards of patient satisfaction as a measure of effectiveness.
* Follows universal precautions and OSHA standards.
* Performs other assigned duties as directed.
Qualifications:
LPN state license required.
1+ years experience in a womens health outpatient setting preferred.
* Must maintain CPR certification.
* Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
* Compassion for the patients and their families.
* Quick decision-making and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work well as part of a healthcare team.
Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.
