Responsibilities:
The LPN utilizes the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation) in a supervised, systematic approach to the direct and indirect care of patients and their families.
* Administer medications: Oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, and some intravenous (depending on state regulations and hospital policy).
* Monitor patient vital signs: Blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation.
* Perform basic patient assessments: Observe and report changes in patient condition.
* Assist with patient hygiene and activities of daily living (ADLs): Bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation.
* Document patient care: Record vital signs, medications, observations, and interventions in the patient's chart.
* Collect specimens: Urine, stool, sputum, and blood (venipuncture depending on state and hospital).
* Perform wound care: Dressing changes, basic wound assessment.
* Communicate with patients and families: Provide emotional support, answer questions, explain procedures.
* Collaborate with the healthcare team: Report patient status to Registered Nurses (RNs) and physicians.
* Maintain a clean and safe patient environment.
Qualifications:
Graduate of accredited school of nursing
Licensed in the State of Minnesota
BLS
Preferred
EPIC EMR experience
LPN experience
