				Overview:

Full-time, 40 hours per week, Dayshift

Monday-Friday: Five 8-hr shifts OR four 10-hr shifts with a set day off

Minimum pay of $22.00 per hour | Pay to commensurate with experience

At the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, our diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities are some of the most advanced in the world. From the child with rumination syndrome or gastroparesis, to those with food allergies or constipation, we are blazing the trail to best possible outcomes for our patients. 

Responsibilities:

* Identifies and documents patient/family objective/subjective data and observations.  Reports pertinent findings to the RN Care Manager/practitioner.
* Collaborates with the RN Care Manager directing the patient's care regarding appropriate tasks/nursing interventions.
* Implements nursing interventions according to established standards demonstrating competence in specified skills.
* Administers and documents medications by all routes, i.e. oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intradermal, transdermal, rectal and aerosol, utilizing the five rights and all other related safety recommendations.
* Demonstrates sound clinical decision making.
* Communicates and documents patient response to care interventions.
* Provides input into revision of plan and care based upon data collected and identified patient/family needs.
* Provides instructions/education and explains procedures to patients/families according to established standards.
* Reinforces teaching related to diagnosis and home-going instructions.
* Assists with examinations and treatments.
* Uses established channels of communication to seek assistance, obtain clarification, share information and offer suggestions.
* Assists in emergency situations as directed by the RN Care Managers.
* Participates in unit based research, quality improvement, and evidence based practice initiatives.
* Develops professional goals as well as a plan to accomplish them.
* Pursues learning opportunities through attendance at in-service programs, continuing education, or formal educational programs.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Department Specific:

* Maintains efficient patient flow in clinic, appropriately managing unexpected changes in schedule and late arriving/incorrectly scheduled patients.
* Collects and documents all patient information/data correctly in EMR.
* Collects, prepares, labels and transports specimens according to policy.
* Manages patient refill request line/faxes.
*  Staffs off-site clinics (Westerville/Dublin) as needed.  

Qualifications:

KNOWLEDGE , SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

* Must be a graduate of an approved school of practical or vocational nursing.
* Must be licensed as a Practical Nurse in the State of Ohio.
* Must complete an Ohio Board of Nursing approved medication test, such as NAPNES (National Association for Practical Nurse Education and Service) or OAPNES (Ohio Association for Practical Nurse Education Service.)

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

* Must be able to see, hear, stand, walk, speak, read and perform manual tasks with or without accommodation, and care for oneself with little or no difficulty.
* Must be able to independently lift up to 25 lbs.
* Must be able to move or reposition patients of any weight or size with the assistance of another person(s) and/or equipment.
