Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Medical/Surgical Innovations Unit on a full-time day shift schedule. This fast-paced and dynamic unit provides care to acute adult patients with a wide range of complex medical needs while also participating in cutting-edge pilot programs and innovative care models.

Responsibilities:
As an LPN on this unit, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include:
* Providing direct nursing care under the supervision of an RN
* Performing wound care treatments and dressing changes
* Administering medications safely and accurately
* Initiating and maintaining IV therapy
* Conducting blood draws and specimen collection
* Managing g-tube feedings and enteral nutrition
* Assisting with care for patients with tracheostomies and ventilators
* Monitoring and documenting patient condition and responses to treatment
* Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support optimal outcomes
* Supporting the implementation of innovative pilot programs and new technologies
Qualifications:
* Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Graduate of accredited Practical Nursing Program.
* Experience: One year of relevant experience, preferred.
* Licensure/Certification:
* Appropriate state LPN license, required.
* NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required.
* CPI certification within 3 months of hire for Behavioral Health departments, required.
* Additional Skills (required):
* Computer skills, Phone call etiquette and Organizational Skills.
* Ability to comprehend policies and procedures and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
* Behavioral Health units' requirements only
* Ability to intervene in a therapeutic manner for behavior patterns demonstrated by patients with a mental illness, personality disorder, substance abuse or developmental disabilities.
* Knowledge of psychiatric medications, side effects and treatment interventions, knowledge of psychiatric diagnosis, mental health concepts, and evidence based therapeutic interventions and treatments. CPI certification within three months.
* Ability to establish and maintain control of violent patients, defend self and others against violent assaults, ability to react appropriately in psychiatric crises, ability use violent and non-violent restraints per policy and procedure.
