Schedule: Full-Time | Night Shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Employment Type: Full Time, 36-hours/week
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team for the night shift. In this role, you will provide high-quality patient care, support residents' health and well-being, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure a safe and comfortable environment during overnight hours.
This Medical-Surgical unit provides a dynamic, hands-on environment focused on delivering comprehensive patient care, including wound management, behavioral health support, medication interventions, G-tube management, and PICC line care. This unit is ideal for nurses looking to build strong clinical fundamentals or those new to Novant seeking a supportive, skill-building setting.
Responsibilities:
* Hands-on experience with advanced wound care and treatment protocols
* Exposure to behavioral health interventions alongside medical-surgical care
* Skill development in G-tube management and enteral feeding support
* Training and experience with PICC line maintenance and IV therapy
* A strong learning environment-perfect for new nurses or those new to Novant to build a solid clinical foundation
Qualifications:
* Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Graduate of accredited Practical Nursing Program
* Experience: One year of relevant experience, preferred.
* Licensure/Certification:
* Appropriate state LPN license, required.
* NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required.
* CPI certification within 3 months of hire for Behavioral Health departments, required.
* Additional Skills (required):
* Computer skills, Phone call etiquette and Organizational Skills
* Ability to comprehend policies and procedures and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
* Behavioral Health units' requirements only
* Ability to intervene in a therapeutic manner for behavior patterns demonstrated by patients with a mental illness, personality disorder, substance abuse or developmental disabilities.
* Knowledge of psychiatric medications, side effects and treatment interventions, knowledge of psychiatric diagnosis, mental health concepts, and evidence based therapeutic interventions and treatments. CPI certification within three months.
* Ability to establish and maintain control of violent patients, defend self and others against violent assaults, ability to react appropriately in psychiatric crises, ability use violent and non-violent restraints per policy and procedure.
