				Overview:

The Lead Sales Associate assists the Store Manager with overseeing and performing day-to-day operations in all areas of the store and supervises Staff and Volunteers in the absence of the Store Manager. They also assist the Store Manager with training, scheduling, and managing staff and volunteers; monitoring cash flow in cash registers; and making deposits to the safe as required. Assists with creating attractive seasonal displays and merchandising inventory daily for increased sales. 

This position assists donors and customers with unloading/loading items to/from their vehicles as well as assists with rotation of stock and stocking the sales floor. 

Responsibilities:

           Supervises daily operations in processing area. Supervises staff and volunteers, monitors workload levels, prioritizes, and assigns work to staff and volunteers 

           Keeps open line of communication between volunteers, Attic Management and Volunteer Services department daily. Updates message board daily to ensure volunteers know expectations and sales figures 

           Responsible and accountable for opening and closing cash registers, balancing days receipts, preparing accurate daily sales reports and bank deposits

           Performs and supervises monetary transactions including cash, checks, credit/debit cards, gift certificates, traveler's checks and processing of coupons and treasure bucks for daily deposit. Monitors cash flow in cash registers and makes deposits to drop safe as required

           Assists and supervises donation intake area, accepts donations from donors, inspects items for quality and cleanliness, directs items to appropriate holding area or directly to sales floor and provides donors with tax receipt

           Assists with coordinating arrangements for pickup of donated furniture as required. Inspects furniture upon receipt, prices per guidelines and moves/directs furniture and large household items directly to sales floor

           Opens and closes the store within scheduled hours of operation. Activates and deactivates security alarm system as appropriate and in a confidential manner 

        Maintains a clean, well-organized, safe store environment by ensuring completion of daily quality control check lists by staff and volunteers 

        Ensure precautionary measures are always in place to prevent safety hazards and theft 

        Assists with ordering and inventory of all supplies 

        Assists with seasonal stock rotation, creating seasonal displays and merchandising inventory to yield highest sales

Qualifications:

        High School diploma or equivalent. 

        One to two years of previous work in a retail environment required; preferably in apparel, thrift/consignment. 

        Cashier and supervisory experience preferred. 

        Valid Florida Driver's License and Insurance
