Responsibilities:

* Sort all linen in preparation of washing.
* Wash linen following a pre-set formula, dry and fold linen, and iron all linens.
* Perform rewash and stained linen procedures.
* Turn in any stray items found in the linen to the supervisor.
* Fill linen requisitions.
* Assist in counting linen during inventories.
* Keep daily production records.
* Clean laundry machinery and cover any linen remaining in carts at the end of the day.
* Keep working area clean and organized and clean laundry bins at end of shift.
* Perform other job-related duties as requested.
* Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
* Must be able to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 30 lbs.
* Must be able to stand/walk up to 6-8 hours per day.
* Ability to communicate effectively.
* Must be able to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
* Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

* Must be a minimum of 18 years of age. 
* High School diploma or equivalent 
* Six months related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
* Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, Word)
* Must be able to read and write in English and have good verbal communicating skills. 
* Basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, fractions, decimals, percentages etc.
* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 
* Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces
