We're hiring a Kitchen Equipment Technician to Live. Work. Explore. at the south rim of the Grand Canyon!
Job Summary:
The Kitchen Equipment Technician performs repairs and preventative maintenance on Xanterra South Rim electrical and gas-fired kitchen equipment.
The Details:
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Pay: $20.75
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities:
* Complete work orders and repairs in a timely and thorough manner, maintaining cost effectiveness in repairs of electrical and gas-fired kitchen equipment.
* Evaluate condition of equipment and make recommendations for repair or replacement. Diagnose malfunctioning appliances using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of the malfunction and correct the problem. Advise management regarding safety and cost effectiveness of equipment operation.
* Conduct routine inspections of kitchen equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
* Perform preventive maintenance on electrical and gas-fired equipment.
* Assist with installation of electrical and gas-fired equipment.
* Perform all work with guest service in mind, keeping equipment and operational down time to a minimum.
* Oversee completion and documentation of work orders, ensuring accuracy and detail with regard to materials, labor, and equipment.
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
* Adhere to all safety, risk management, and environmental policies and procedures.
* Assist in the training of Food and Beverage personnel in the proper operation of kitchen equipment.
* Train General Maintenance Technicians for basic troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of kitchen equipment.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Ability to troubleshoot and repair commercial electrical and gas-fired kitchen equipment and appliances.
* The aptitude required to complete common mechanical, electrical, and gas repairs and maintenance.
* Ability to work with voltages ranging from 0-240 volts, which includes single phase and three phase.
* Ability to troubleshoot contact relays, have knowledge of computer circuitry and Thermo-fluid dynamics.
* A working knowledge and hands-on experience with plumbing, steam, gas, and electrical systems.
* Ability to read, comprehend, and draw schematics and diagrams.
* Ability to give an accurate estimate of time and material necessary for a given project.
* Proficiency in the operation and use of equipment and tools common to kitchen equipment maintenance and repair.
* The ability and willingness to mentor and train less experienced Maintenance Technicians and Food and Beverage personnel.
* Possess personal computer skills sufficient to efficiently work with the Microsoft Office software suite and the ability to quickly gain proficiency in company-specific software.
* Possess or obtain a valid Arizona Driver's License within 90 days of start date and comply with the Xanterra South Rim Company Vehicle Policy.
Physical Requirements include:
* This position requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, crawling, squatting/kneeling, reaching outward and above the shoulder.
* This position requires being able to frequently lift/carry 10 - 50 lbs (occasionally 51-100 lbs), push/pull 12 - 25 lbs and occasionally 26-100 lbs.
* Must have the physical ability to perform the tasks of the job including entering confined space and ascending/descending ladders.
* This position also requires occasional sitting
