Responsibilities:
Jr. Paralegal - Contracts & Litigation
Bio: The Jr. Paralegal - Contracts & Litigation plays a key role in supporting Sazerac's Legal & Compliance team across two critical areas: commercial contracts and litigation management. This position provides hands-on assistance to attorneys in reviewing, drafting, and organizing agreements while also coordinating discovery, documentation, and case tracking for active litigation and employment matters. By standardizing contract workflows, maintaining accurate matter records, and managing communication with outside counsel, this role enhances efficiency, reduces risk, and ensures consistent legal operations support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Provide comprehensive support for litigation, disputes, and employment matters, including document management, legal holds, investigations, and coordination with outside counsel.
* Review and organize commercial agreements (NDAs, vendor, and service contracts) while managing all stages of the contract lifecycle from intake through filing.
* Maintain accurate matter tracking, calendars, and reporting to ensure compliance, consistency, and timely execution across legal processes.
* Partner with attorneys, internal stakeholders, and the Legal Operations Manager to manage outside counsel billing, matter tracking, and departmental governance initiatives.
* Contribute to compliance, risk mitigation, and continuous process improvement efforts that enhance Legal & Compliance operational efficiency.
* Use MyPerformance to improve skills and support ongoing development within the Legal & Compliance organization - facilitating performance discussions, skill evaluations, and the adoption of MyDevelopment for professional growth.
Qualifications:
MUST
* Bachelors Degree or commensurate experience
* Bachelor's degree or associate degree in paralegal studies (or equivalent education/experience).
* 3+ years' paralegal experience, preferably in contracts and litigation within a corporate or law firm environment.
* Strong organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail and ability to balance multiple tasks.
PREFERRED
* 3 years Business experience, at least
* Proficiency with microsoft office; experience with contract management or e-billing software
