Responsibilities: * Interprets communication between the staff and non-English speaking population. * Translates written educational materials and documents in accordance with readability guidelines. * Follows up with the non-English speaking population to inquire about the status of individual patients and answers questions. * Assists the non-English speaking population in completing medical, financial and related forms. * Escorts non-English speaking population to the appropriate service area. * May provide patient education and discharge planning in conjunction with nursing and rehabilitation staff. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities * Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above. * Demonstrated ability to accurately interpret and translate verbal and written text. * Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills. * Ability to work independently in an efficient, productive manner maintaining composure and sensitivity in accordance with the environment of health care services. Qualifications: QualificationsRequired * Associate's degree in a foreign language, or equivalency.
